The Full Moon is in Virgo, it is called a Full Snow Moon as usually this is the moon when the snow in the deepest.
It was also called the Hunger Moon by American Indians as it was a time when the hunting was the most difficult. The Cherokee called it Bone Moon as they found it was a time when the menu was chewing on bones or drinking bone marrow broth.
Who knew in 2016 with the Paleo diet, it would be the rage!!
The old song “dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones” actually got it wrong. They are quite moist and tasty and make an extremely tasty broth! Below is a simple recipe from Wellness Mama that may make you day a little warmer.
Bone Broth Ingredients
- 2 pounds (or more) of bones from a healthy source
- 2 chicken feet for extra gelatin (optional)
- 1 onion
- 2 carrots
- 2 stalks of celery
- 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- Optional: 1 bunch of parsley, 1 tablespoon or more of sea salt, 1 teaspoon peppercorns, additional herbs or spices to taste. I also add 2 cloves of garlic for the last 30 minutes of cooking.
You’ll also need a large stock pot to cook the broth in and a strainer to remove the pieces when it is done.
Enjoy the Full Snow Moon!!!
The full moon on December 6th 2014, is called the Full Cold Moon, It is the month the winter cold tightens it’s grip and nights become long and dark.
Some Native American tribes call it Long Nights Moon.
In Europe and the Southern hemisphere it is also called the Oak Moon.
This Full Cold Moon is also the last “Release” cycle of the year.
Time to let go of things that no longer have a positive influence on our lives . Outdated ideas, things from the past, a toxic relationship be it friend, lover or even that negative relative or job.
The full moon is time to make powerful statements about how you wish your life to be.
And the waning moon (the day after) is perfect for reducing, letting go and releasing all those thoughts and situations that no longer serve you.
Including weight loss and moving from an old home!
On this full moon DECEMBER 6th, have a personal celebration, “dance beneath the full moon”. Embrace change in the coming year!!!
Draw down the energy of the moon and let go of all baggage and CELEBRATE LIFE WITH YOUR LIFE!!!!!
On a piece of paper write down what it is you are releasing. The fear of not having enough of something, not being good enough, smart enough, strong enough. All this can block all our efforts. If you do not know what your fear is — simply leave it blank and the universe will fill it in for you.
To Remove fear
One red candle
one white candle
On the first day after the Full Moon, Light the red and then the white giving up all your fear and anxiety to the higher power in your life. Let it burn till done.
I use the glass jar candles that burn for about 7 days. These are usually found in grocery, drug stores and the .99 store. They sometime have saints on them. I place mine on a cookie sheet, pie tin or candle holder in case of cracking as it gets lower and hotter.
When you use Candle Magick, you are causing changes in the universe. While there are constructive and destructive changes you can initiate (notice I did not say good and bad). Universal energies are neutral! They are not “good” or “evil” as in the movies.
Example-constructive to bring something as opposed to destructive, destroying fear
Keep your intent clear, work on yourself, and do not interfere with others
Candles can be used in a very positive and powerful way to set off a vibration in the universe
(see explanation of how they work under the subject Candle work)
Have a Fabulous Day!
